Department of Mechanical Engineering also known as “Royal Mechanical” due to its wide areas of applications & core concepts which can be implemented to various streams. It was the most selectable choice of course for the students. It has a wide scope in the field of Automobile, Industrial Production, Aerospace and many others sectors. Department of Mechanical Engineering came into existence from the year 2014 with an intake of 60. The department has well qualified, reliable & efficient faculty members with a good number of experience in various specialization namely Thermal Engineering, Machine Design, Production Technology, Computer Integrated manufacturing, Manufacturing Science & Engineering. The department has Research Centre which affiliated to VTU, Belgaum. The Department has well equipped & well- furnished class rooms and laboratories. The department has provided the chance for the pre-final year students to make the mini-projects by implementing the core concepts of Mechanical Engineering, so the students can make use of the opportunity to explore themselves by adopting their skills and creativity. Faculty members are involved in their research activities (PhD Programmes) under reputed Universities (VTU) for enhancing their knowledge which will serve the students in an attractive manner and faculty members have participated in various Faculty Development or Training Programmes. The Department is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is headed by Dr.R.Manjunatha, having good number of experience in the field of teaching and industry. As per the requirements of VTU & AICTE, the Department of Mechanical Engineering has well established laboratories to serve the students for improving their technical skills by analysing the practical knowledge.
